About me
My name is Marieke Peeters.
With a background in Psychology (MSc) and Artificial Intelligence (MSc., PhD), I represent a human-centered perspective on data-driven solutions.
Human-centered and responsible use of AI has been part of my work for more than 10 years. Through this I have gained research and practical experience with applied cognitive psychology, artificial intelligence, ethics, and user-centered design in the context of socially relevant problems. All this comes together perfectly when addressing the interdisciplinary issues of how we can use AI in a responsible and human-centered way.
In my career so far, I have also developed a number of valuable competencies, such as leadership, research skills, dealing with unexpected events, achieving results with composite teams in a complex organization, and developing trusted and lasting working relationships.
Gradually I came to realize that I am a mission-driven worker: for me it is important that I contribute something valuable to society now and in the future. AI has wonderful possibilities, but unfortunately there is also a lot wrong with the way we deploy it now. Guiding this development in the right direction is not just a job for me, but a goal that I want to commit myself to.
